In the canteen of life sitting
I sip Lighter ales
There aren't many walls to gleam upon again
Windows show the starlit skies
And the doorknob is just beneath my palm
I reflect at times past
With a sigh of relief
And my heart s lighting up
I hear people and their friendly chatter
Glasses full and decked with clatter
It is so much warmer in this room
Pondering something too vague to utter
Suddenly I realise, I'm smiling
