Of Darkness And Light

The dark and and the bright
Two sides of a coin
By day – just one light
By night – by a million

Are they so firmly apart?
Or is light but defined
by the shadow it casts?
Shan't there be peace on both sides?

Are you not light, just like the star
Which floats through infinite darkness?
Does such a star see only the dark
Or the offspring which he so defines?

And would there be light,
If not for the dark?
And what if there was
Only darkness?

As one with the light,
Would you shine so bright
As to reflect on own likeness?
